How we began

A group of underpriviledged and lower income women making clothes in Jaipur, India asked the international volunteer organization, Association for India's Development (AID), to support design training and introduce their creations to American women. AID collaborated with students at North Carolina State University College of Textiles to help make it happen.

Philosophy

Through fashion, we're connecting cultures to make a difference in the lives of women all over. It's all about the ladies! These designs are made in their homes, not in a factory. We sell directly to you and impoverished women in India benefit.

Our Clothes

Jaipur is known for its vivid, block-printed textiles. We use vegetable and azo-free pigments on natural fibers, aiming for comfortable, elegant forms for any body type, that are simple to make for the women we're training. Our ladies have incredible surface-embellishment skills so a more specialized collection is in the works. We can do custom sizing/fabrics if you've already got an idea to create.

Come Visit

There's no brick and mortar store, but we'll take you to India to meet the HUNAR women through photos and video with our study abroad students, as they personally connect with the makers of this special clothing and learn about new, humane models for garment production.
